Integrating Trees Network (ITN)

You are warmly invited to join Scottish Forestry, the award‑winning Integrating Trees Network and Scottish Land and Estates, at the Scottish Land and Estates marquee for an informal joint reception exploring how trees can help your business now and in the future.

When?

Friday 19 June, 1:30 pm to 3 pm.

Where?

Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, Edinburgh, EH28 8NB.

This free event is open to all attending the Royal Highland Show.

What can I expect?

The reception will provide a valuable opportunity to hear and discuss how integrating trees can support your business objectives, to:

  • enhance biodiversity
  • deliver carbon benefits
  • produce timber
  • build resilience
  • provide long‑term solutions

Key staff from Scottish Forestry will be joined by our fantastic host farmers from the Integrating Trees Network to share their practical experience and insights.

We would be delighted if you could join us, for canapés and refreshments while chatting about how trees could work for your business and how we can help support you.

Note, this free event is open to all attending the Royal Highland Show:

  • you do not need to be an SLE member to attend
  • booking is not required

Join us to explore how livestock can be integrated into existing woodlands and the range of benefits they can deliver.

What can I expect?

David Carruth of Brodoclea Woodland Farm will share his experience of managing ‘woolly’ Mangalitsa pigs within a young woodland system. 

He’ll discuss how he integrated pigs for food production alongside wider objectives including:

  • timber
  • carbon sequestration
  • biodiversity enhancement

We’ll start with an introduction at Dalry Community Centre before travelling to Brodoclea Woodland Farm, where we’ll see first-hand the:

  • benefits David has observed since introducing the pigs
  • challenges he’s met along the way

We’ll also have speakers from Scottish Forestry joining us to discuss funding and first steps to woodland creation.

Scotland's Rural College (SRUC)

The second Future Landscape Conference will be held at the SRUC Barony Campus this October. 

When

What can you expect?

Held every two years the conference aims to promote innovation in the rural landscape to meet the needs of tomorrow.

This year’s conference is themed around “Innovation in Integration: Building resilient futures through collaboration”.

It will be an opportunity to:

  • share research, and case studies from across the sector
  • highlight opportunities for collaboration between industries
