We assess projects to see if they are suitable for funding, using option-specific scoring criteria. We will evaluate applications based on criteria like:
- environmental benefits
- sustainability
- alignment with national forestry priorities
The guidance on scoring criteria explains which criteria we will use and how we will score your application.
- Each option in your application must meet the threshold score for approval.
- Woodland creation applications must score at least one point on each criterion, except for additional benefit.
We will then use the score to allocate funding. We will carry out this on a competitive basis through the Forestry Grant Scheme clearing process.
