Summary
Use this template to prepare your Long Term Forest Plan (LTFP). It will help you set out how you plan to manage your woodland over the next 20 years.
We recommend you read our Applicant Guidance before completing your plan.
When do I need a Long Term Forest Plan?
If your woodland is 100 hectares or more, you will need an approved LTFP to be eligible for grants
within the Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS).
If your woodland is under 100 hectares, you should prepare a Management Plan instead.
Getting expert advice
It's important your plan is accurate and of good quality. We recommend using a qualified forestry agent to prepare your LTFP. You may want to consider seeking other expert advice where there are environmental or landscape sensitivities.
You can apply for grant support in preparing a LTFP.
How will my plan be assessed?
Your Long Term Forest Plan must meet the requirements and follow the guidelines set out in the UK Forestry Standard.
