Topic: Manage forests

Sub topic: Biodiversity

Guidance to assist in long term forest planning and the creation of strategic forest plans.

Summary

The Forest Plan aims to deliver long-term environmental benefits through sustainable forest management and consists of a strategic plan describing the major forest operations over a 20 year period. We can provide support to help you prepare the Forest Plan, through the Woodland Improvement Grant (WIG) for long-term forest planning. An approved Forest Plan will give you a 10 year approval for felling, thinning and the means of accessing grants for restructuring felling and regeneration.
