Scoping is an opportunity to determine the main effects of the forestry project and define the content of the EIA.
When we are satisfied with the report, there will be a public consultation period before we issue our decision.
Scoping process
Scoping takes place when your forestry project requires EIA consent. It provides an opportunity for us, you, and other interested parties to determine what the main effects will be and define the content of the EIA report.
We recommend you use a Woodland Creation Processing Agreement (WCPA) for all woodland creation proposals needing EIA consent.
The WCPA sets out the key stages involved in determining a major woodland creation proposal, identifying what's needed from those involved and setting realistic timescales for the delivery of the various stages of the process.
